    Hey guys,

    I’m experienced a lot of dud signups because I also run a forum.

    Do you happen to have a recaptcha or something against bot signups?

    Hello,

    the social networks already have a bot protection in place and the login with a social network is protected against bots too. It is very unlikely that bots create spam accounts by logging in with a social network.

    Are you sure that the signups were made using the login with a social network?

    Yeah, good question, I’m not sure what the spammers used.
    They might have used the normal WordPress login, too.

    I’m quite confident though that since I don’t have the Recaptcha anymore the number of idle accounts increased.
