Rearranging Posts

My posts are not in the order I would like them in. I tried a plugin but you have to manually move the posts by dragging them and I have over two hundred to arrange.

I’m thinking about changing the dates on posts so that the most current posts are on the main page first. The least important posts I’d date back to 2018 and put ten posts per month by dates roughly. November 2018 would be the oldest month.

Is there a simpler way to do this or a better free plugin for doing this? I figured with a plugin I’d still have a lot of work so by hand I could be sure not to break my website.
