Support » Plugin: Broken Link Checker » Really straightforward

  • There are very few settings to think about, but they include essential stuff like how to format broken links in published work (the plugin will then do this for you.) It’s very easy to edit, fix or redirect a problem link. It checks everything automatically, then gives you a warning if you have links to fix – it’s quite a subtle warning, so keep an eye on the admin menu item!

After installing this on a site with a year’s worth of weekly posts, the plugin did find quite a lot of problems. Many were internal links that we’d moved or re-named. There’s little worse than a blog full of dead things, though, so it is worth the initial effort. Once you’ve dealt with the backlog, the plugin makes it very easy to stay up-to-date.
