[Resolved] Really old posts do not display using “older posts »” link

  • I migrated to WordPress in May of 2005 from other CMS software platforms (PHP-Nuke, PostNuke, and Xaraya) and have been extremely pleased with it so far. WordPress is light and elegant.

On my site, I have articles dating back to 1996 (as evidenced by my archive: http://www.drewvogel.com/index.php/archive/). However, the “older posts + »” link at the bottom of each page only allows users to go back to March of 2002 (see http://www.drewvogel.com/index.php/page/22/) and no further.

Ideally, users would be able to step all the way back to the beginning using the “older posts + »” link. I would appreciate it very much if someone could tell me how to accomplish this.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Does anyone have any ideas for solving this problem, please?

    ANYONE?!

Just a guess, anything to do with “A Front Page Item”–is that a category that those older posts don’t have and you are excluding on your front page???

Also notice the Pages links at the very bottom also don’t get to those posts…

I’d look in the database, and compare the older posts to the ones that do show up and see if anything looks out of place or is missing.

Thank you for the replies. I’ll check if those older articles have the “A Front Page Item” category…

What am I looking for in the database?

Actually, I verified that the older posts lack the “A Front Page Item” category. Adding it fixes the problem. Thanks!

    (I’m marking this as resolved.)
