Auto regenerate the honey pot field name NEEDED

    There really needs to be a way to auto regenerate the honey pot field at a fixed interval. I see someone asked a similar question here https://wordpress.org/support/topic/honey-pot-field-name/ – and the reply was basically “its not needed”.

    Generally this plugin is great. I have an unlimited site license for the extended version but this plugin is quickly becoming a liability.

    On some of the sites this is on (often just free version), every handful of months I receive an email from the client saying “I’m not receiving any emails, whats wrong?”.. Sure enough, after testing the contact form I get the “Spamming or your Javascript is disabled !!”. Regenerating the honey pot field name fixes this.

    I’m fairly sure one client was not receiving leads for at least a month before he asked me. I’ve actually had to start removing this plugin from sites due to the risk it poses for clients losing leads. Its just happened to another site with the extended version and I’m feeling quite frustrated now, hence this post.

    A simple cron job to regenerate the honeypot every x days would totally fix this. Please, please provide a way for us to implement this.

    Hi,

    Regenerating the honeypot field is only needed when spams are coming through. Where as in your case, all the submission are being blocked.

    In most of the cases, when the plugin was running previously fine and then shows this message, this might be caused by js conflict or some caching issue.

    Can you check on this when it happens again in your site ?

    Nothing on the site changes. Spam gets blocked. Real submissions start getting blocked for some unknown reason. Regenerating the honeypot starts letting real submissions through again.

    Any chance you can share me the form url of those sites when having subnmission issue before updating the honeypot field name. I can try find out why it is causing so.

    OK. It only took 2 weeks for it to happen again. This is super frustrating. Where can I send you details of the site ? I’d rather not post here.

    I’ve actually just had to disable the plugin.. I enabled spam submissions and was honestly disgusted by what I saw in there.. its been blocking so many legit leads.. this plugin is too risky to use.

    I can understand the frustration of the issue, but our plugin suddenly marking all the submission as spam after 2 weeks is weird and new to us.
