  • Before finding PDA, I paid for two other products to lock down my media, and I had to ask for refunds, because it was only after purchase that both companies told me that anyone with a link to the media could still access it without being logged in.

    Huh? What’s that? The whole reason for locking down a site is to force people to be LOGGED IN before accessing media, so why are you selling me a product to do that when it doesn’t do that?

    Anyway, I tried the PDA three-file demo, and it seemed to work, so I purchased that and the extension to allow custom roles (which, by the way, is NOT included with all licenses as it implies on the site (I’ve been informed that they’re going to change the wording of this)) Much to my dismay, however, after installing both plugins, I was still able to access the media without being logged in: all I had to do was send the link to myself and I could get it. BUT, after a chat with PDA tech, we got it to work. Turns out it was deactivated host service plugin that had to be reactivated and cleared of it’s cache. Boom. The media was now locked down.

    Overall, the support is excellent, and PDA is definitely one of the few companies that don’t automatically say “it’s not us – must be another plugin” when you have a problem. Thats always a big thumbs up in my book.
