Hello I have just downloaded and uploaded the “latest.tar.gz” wordpress. stil after installation it says “WordPress 1.2.1” at the bottom of the controlpanel, when i log in. For instance I don’t have “dashboard” or “presentation” in my menu. (j, http://www.ecolective/wordpress/)

    Did you run /wp-admin/upgrade.php??

And, btw, it is not advisable to upgrade directly from 1.2.x to 2.x. Upgrade first to 1.5.2 and then to 2.0.2 – the latest. More details: Upgrading_WordPress

    ecolective –
    1) where did you download it from?
    2) Is this in fact an upgrade?
    3) HOW did you upgrade (if in fact it is an upgrade)?
    4) What version did you have before?

ecolective, the version now available at the normal download link above is 2.0.2 – at this point I think you’d be best advised to just redownload, delete whatever you’ve got already there, drop the database, and start over.
