Reading Settings Static Page is stuck on Broken page

    I recently found my home page was corrupted somehow, it won’t display the Slider Revolution sliders on the page. When I went to switch the static page to load to a different one, the same broken page is loading instead of the one I set. I even tried setting it to display the posts page and it’s still stuck loading the same broken page and its content. Unfortunately I don’t have a backup that goes back before I started seeing it (dumb). Just want to get the static page setting “unstuck” so I can set it to a different page (a clone of the original with a page name url change). Anybody ever see this before?

    It appears you’re missing a number of files for that plugin:

    I’d try removing then reinstalling the plugin. If that doesn’t help, then check with the plugin’s support team.

    I can definitely do that, but the problem is that all the Slider Revolution plugin elements load just fine on pages that aren’t the one set to the static page (https://julisascleanandfresh.com/the-historic-triangles-top-cleaning-company/). That doesn’t really answer the question “Why is the static page stuck and can’t be changed?”

    So what do you mean by ” When I went to switch the static page to load to a different one,”. Is this under settings -> reading? I see you have something going called “Newfold Page Cache”. Caching is often a source of problems like this. Try disabling that caching plugin. (Newfold page cache is something installed by your host, so you may have to ask them about it.)

    Removing the Plugin and reinstalling had no impact on the “stuck” static page to display setting.

    IF you temporarily switch the theme to something pretty basic (e.g., twentytwentyone) and *not* a block or FSE theme, does that change how settings->reading works?

    Now I go to your home page and it redirects to https://julisascleanandfresh.com/the-historic-triangles-top-cleaning-company-2/, which is a 404.

    I think between the new WordPress embedded Endurance Cache and the Hostgator Plugin Caching (Newfold), something was forcing that cached page, thanks for suggesting looking at all the caching possibilities, that was the lightbulb moment. I’ll try and report back if there are any additional issues on other sites as a result of those two caches forcing the old static page to stay cached…….

    Once I removed the caching, it fell back on a workaround I had tried to put in place redirecting to that other page, whicch I deleted in further troubleshooting, thus the 404…..which meant it had been fixed. New Static page set is working 4.0!!
