• Hello everyone,

    Using WordPress 2.9.2

There is one blank post in the post section
    – Posts
There are a number of pages in the Page section:

    – Home
    – Background
    – Gallery
    Etc..

However, when I go to the Reading section in the Settings panel of the Dashboard and I click on the drop down menu to select what the front page should display, both drop down menus (Front Page and Posts Page drop down menus) show the pages…

Isn’t one supposed to show the pages and the other one the posts ?

How can I resolve this ? is this a bug ?

    thank you.

No – they are both supposed to show Pages. So it’s not a bug.

    Hm, that puzzles me.

So why do you need two seperate drop down boxes with identical content if I may ask ?

Because one is for your Home page and the second is for your (separate) Posts page.

    dertien,
your Posts Page is really just a placeholder page. Think of it as the blank shell, that is filled up by your individual posts.
