For the past few weeks my Yoast SEO Analyser has stopped working inside my WordPress Editor when writing posts. I am using Gutenberg and can’t track it back to any changes in settings/updates/new plug ins etc. My WP and Yoast plug in are both up to date.

The readability analysis section does not load and just continually spins. The SEO section just appears red and does not show any of the sub items.

I installed the health check and troubleshooting plug in, and disabled all plug-ins except for Yoast, and the problem persisted.

I’m not sure what to do from here, and would appreciate any assistance.

    Thanks!

@mikes41720 Hi Michael, yes that is correct. There are no other red JS errors in the console.

    Hi @sallyrodrick

We tried this on a test site with WP 5.8.3, a default WP TwentyTwenty theme, and only Yoast SEO v17.9 as the plugin enabled, but were unable to reproduce this issue when editing a post. There weren’t any JS errors such as Uncaught ReferenceError: document is not defined as per your screenshot, so it may be something else with your local set-up.

We recommend that you try this out from a fresh installation and see if you are still able to reproduce the issue, as it might be something else with your setup. Otherwise, we recommend that you log a bug report on GitHub by following the steps here – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/

I just started experiencing the same problem.

I tried all the things suggested above (health check and troubleshooting plug-in, disabled all plug-ins except for Yoast, checked the “Disable SEO Settings and Disable readability analysis” but mine were unchecked, cleared cache, tried multiple browsers, tried INCOGNITO. I tried everything suggested and the problem still persists.

    Has anyone found a solution?

Note: Instead of the Yoast SEO Section showing while in PAGE EDIT in its usual place below the page title, it is displaying in the right frame when you click settings. The problem with this is it does not allow you to scroll down to update the fields.

Can someone please POST a solution?

    Thanks

I have found a temporary workaround.

    Backdate 1 version
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/advanced/
(At Bottom of Page) Please select a specific version to download / 17.8

    Install 17.8

This solved the problem of being able to view Yoast SEO fields. This MUST be an issue with Yoast SEO 17.9

But, it’s still forcing all of the Yoast SEO Options/Fields to the right components panel and not the left/bottom of the page where it used to be. The RIGHT PANEL is TOO restrictive. I’m still trying to find a solution for this.

Has anyone else resolved this issue?

    Thanks…..

    Hi @wpallweb

We appreciate you sharing this We are sorry you’re having a similar issue.

We recommend performing a conflict check with only a default WP theme (such as TwentyTwenty) and only Yoast SEO v17.9 as the plugin enabled. If you could then provide a screenshot (using snipboard.io or imgur.com to share a link) of your browser’s console with any JavaScript errors and what you are seeing from your end in the post/page edit screen, this would be helpful so we would be able to understand where the issue is stemming from.

Please open a new request. That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. Thanks!

Issue: JS manipulation by CDN / WAF. More specific, the Sitelock/Imperva CDN/WAF

Posting an update that maybe help others experiencing this problem.

    Immediate, temporary solution:
I contacted Sitelock. They are aware of this issue. I’m not sure what the long-term solution is but, if you call them and ask them to turn off JS Minification on your site, it may solve the problem as a temporary solution. It solved the problem for me. Also, I just went to the Sitelock website and called their support number. They answered on the first call and were very helpful.

    Hope that helps.
