You have to leave all links intact, including the redundant link back to your own site and cannot install a copyright or credit in the footer. Otherwise a nice theme, but that flags this one for me earning one star.

Edit: Never mind, I was mistaken. I’ve suggested the theme to the review team for disapproval and suspension.

That’s in the copy I just downloaded from here…

Interesting. Off to do some reading on the subject. 🙂

BTW, the GFDL is not compatible with the GPL, and so not acceptable for being listed in the directory.

In that case, I use mighty mod powers to retract my comment. 🙂

Those restrictions certainly weren’t there when I tested the theme for WLTC almost a month ago. I’ll be removing it from our directory too. Shame.

Actually, those restrictions were in there in the 1.0 version, 3 months ago:
    http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/albizia/1.0/readme.txt

    Easy to miss though.

I suspect the author just has to be notified of the problem. He’s released several changes to it over the last 3 months. It’s an actively maintained theme.

I can’t imagine how I’d miss that. I investigate the licenses very thoroughly. Must have been an off day.

You’ll also want to remove the rest from the author. They have the same license and restrictions.

I’ll let the reviewers decide how to handle it. If the author is willing to change the license, then the change can be made and there won’t be any need to suspend the themes in the meantime.

So I should hold off on calling the torch and pitchfork mob?

Put ’em on standby. Torches ain’t cheap, no need to light them too early.
