read more — word count script request

I searched all the database for plug-ins — but have not found a good workable one that would count the number of words in a long posting.
For example:

today’s post title
(content)
{reasd more approximately 1100 words}

is there a script that I can add for the weblog to count the words in a post? Any ideas? Has anyone else been using this —
