# Read more sooner

 * Hi, we have hundreds of comments per posts. All comments are without pagination.
   This is good.
 * However, I want to shorten the list with the WP Discuz ‘Read More’ button.
 * But when I enable this, the read more button appears after 50 comments with their
   comments or so.
 * How can I make the list of comments before the Read More button shorter? I want
   to show the Read More button much sooner. I prefer after 1 or two comments and/
   or subcomments.
 * How can I set that?

 * Change the value for the number of comments in the in Dashboard > Settings >

 * Are you referring to the WordPress dashboard, or the WP Discuz Dashboard? Beause
   in WP Discuz, I cannot find such a setting. And in WP Discussion settings there
   is no such a value to be set.

 * But if you are referring to this setting in the WordPress Discussion settings:
 * “Break comments into pages with 6 top level comments per page and the first page
   displayed by default”
 * Then this does NOT work, because this relates to the TOP LEVEL comments.
 * Often, a first top level comment has 80+ sub comments. So the page will show 
   all of these 80+ sub comments, and then the second top level comment, with all
   its sub comments.
 * No, no, no … This is not working.
 * I need a way to **limit the amount of displayed comment**, no matter if it’s 
   a top level of sub level comment.

 * Ah, that is indeed a good solution. Thank you very much!
 * However, I tested it and the text string **“View Replies” is not translated**,
   while it IS translated in the translation file.
 * The text string “Hide Replies”, IS translated and does work correctly.
 * How can I translate the text string “View Replies”?

   admin page.
