“Read more” is showing up on home page excerpts but not in category/archived posts. (You have to click on the title to read the rest.)

I am using the plugin Thumbnail for Excerpts.

I have edited my category file to include the_content( ‘read more’ ); I don’t know what else to do?

A warning on that plugin’s page reads:

This plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

are you using the ‘more tag’ in your posts?

No, I’m not using more tags. I have changed my css to show post excerpts and am using the plugin to show thumbnail images.

For the record, the plugin (Thumbnail for Excerpts) does not seem to be the problem. When I deactivate it, same problem. “Read more” tag shows on home page but not when I click on category or archives.

Isn’t there anyone with answers? So the plugin is just to put images with my excerpts. My excerpts are actually coming from the functions file I edited. So do they just not work on category or archive posts?
