    Hello there,
    I noticed that when I use <!– more –> tag in a PB block, it renders outside the block. Moreover, changing the text through the WP tag the_content(‘new text’) doesn’t work.
    Everything works fine if, in the same post, I don’t use PB.
    Any clue?
    Thanks

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

    Please, could you make your site publicly accessible? We’ll then take a look at the markup and try to advise from there.

    Right, sorry, I forgot I put a coming soon page. I can’t make it public as I’m still working on it. Is it a problem if I provide guest access?

    If you gain access, then you can see the site.
    Thanks

    Thanks. How is the more link being inserted? Are you inserting it manually in the post text or is it being inserted automatically by your theme? If it’s being inserted automatically then it’s unlikely there is anything we can do from our end to move the position of the button, there is Page Builder spacing in place for the post that’s carrying over to this post loop, that’s an expected result. We aren’t usually able to assist with Custom CSS within our free support scope but you could try adding to Customize > Additional CSS:

    .col-md-6 .panel-grid {
    	margin-bottom: 0 !important;
    }

    If you aren’t inserting the more quicktag manually then my guess would be that the method you’re using to change the text isn’t being applied. You’d need to dig a bit deeper and see how button is being automatically applied in order to change the text. It’s a good question for theme support. You can also try searching your theme for the filter the_content_more_link.

    Hello Andrew,
    thanks for your prompt reply. Firstly, I’m using a custom theme I made myself, but everything happens even with the standard seventeen WP theme. I didn’t create any custom function for the “more link”. The more link is inserted in the post using the <!– more –> tag inside a SiteOrigin Editor widget, but, when rendered in the DOM, the link is placed outside the widget, while I expected it to be inside. Maybe it should be like that, but it seems weird to me.
    To change the text I used the standard the_content(‘new text’) in the index.php page and it works if I don’t use PB but the classic editor, as shown in the page i linked. I’ll use the workaround you suggested, setting the bottom margin to 0.
    Thanks

    Thanks for your feedback.

    I’ve chatted with the team, the positioning is expected. Getting the more quicktag to work from within Page Builder content takes some work from our side. I’ll raise this issue but for the time being, the positioning is expected. Hopefully, the CSS rule I sent helps resolve the spacing issue you’re working to resolve.

    I can confirm, the read more text isn’t responding to the_content function. That might be a limitation, I’ll raise that with the team and report back. You can, however, change the string using a function as follows:

    if ( ! function_exists( 'vantage_read_more_link' ) ) :
    /**
     * Filter the read more link.
     */
    function vantage_read_more_link() {
    	$read_more_text = __( 'Continue reading', 'vantage' );
    	return '<a class="more-link" href="' . get_permalink() . '">' . $read_more_text . '</a>';
    }
    add_filter( 'the_content_more_link', 'vantage_read_more_link' );
    endif;

    Change the vantage_ namespace to match your theme’s namespace. Change the the ‘vantage’ text domain to match your theme’s. Hope that helps 🙂 Thanks for your feedback

    It helps, thank you a lot. Cheers
