read more link?

    Is it possible, in a long description, to enter a shortcode that creates a read more link? I have set up a products page to display all of the affiliate products on, but the descriptions are so long I’m afraid they won’t see the other products.

    On this page that has the list of products, can I have a excerpt of the description?

    Or is there a way to display just the title and image that link to the product page with full description?

    Has anyone gotten the read more link to work so the text seen at first can be limited? <!–more–> doesn’t work.
    Have a look at my site, http://www.great-taste.net/products/ many of these posts could/should be shorter until you click through.

    Hi signsintime and Teri,
    the description section of the plugin will support short codes so if you have a plugin that will allow you to display a readmore link then it should work.
    The <!–more–> is not a regular short code and is for normal pages and posts. I will look at adding an ‘excerpt’ type field in the next release that would let you have less on the first page and a more detailed description when you click through on the product title.
