# Read more button doesn't show

 * Hello,
 * I’m trying to write my first article. And I used the “more” button while writing
   after the two first sentences.
    But in the final rendering, only the two first
   sentences are shown with no “read more” link or button. You can view the website

 * When I tried the following [solution](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/more-tag-doesnt-work-5?replies=28)(
   Setting show full text to articles), the “read more” appears but the thumbnail
   picture disappear…
 * Any help please? Thank you very much!

 * Hi,
    are you talking about the more tag? If yes it’s displayed when you show 
   the whole content in post list, and not the excerpt, it’s normal. Otherwise you

 * Yes indeed, but when I set the whole post, the lateral thumbnail picture of the
   post disappears. Is there anyway to keep it with the full post option set please?

 * Hi Marouane,
    yes I told you, it’s normal, and it’s normal that when you show
   the full content you don’t see the thumbnail 😀 As I told you above you might
   want to show the read more link (in the link above). The difference will be that
   the excerpt will be cut at a specific length. You can customize this length in
   the Post List settings.

 * Yes you are right, I had to remove the “<!–more–>” I’ve already inserted in the
   article after adding the new filter and bingo!
