Read more button doesn't show

are you talking about the more tag?
If yes it’s displayed when you show the whole content in post list, and not the excerpt, it’s normal.
Otherwise you can customize the read more when you show the excerpt :

yes I told you, it’s normal, and it’s normal that when you show the full content you don’t see the thumbnail 😀
As I told you above you might want to show the read more link (in the link above).
The difference will be that the excerpt will be cut at a specific length.
You can customize this length in the Post List settings.
