Please, consider adding emoticon/reaction functionality to the support forums. That would enable users to express their “me too” and “thanks”/”this worked for my case” insight without making needless noise in a form of separate forums posts or deciding not to participate.

There are specific guidelines in the forums rules about not making extra posts, and I even see annoyed users (plugin authors) making extra posts to explain these guidelines (going off-topic and making noise themselves), which should become much less of a problem if there were better ways (reaction icons) to give one’s insight or support in a less obtrusive way.

Thanks for your idea. It’s actually not new. Here’s a ticket that was closed 7 years ago: https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4529

Here’s one that’s open and goes in a similar direction: https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5006

If something like this were to be implemented, it would need to be more clearly defined what kind of reactions there could be and what effect they would have. You are welcome to submit your idea as a ticket in the above-mentioned Meta Trac, but it should be thought through a little more. For example, I (in my opinion) don’t think much of a “me too” reaction, as this doesn’t really help those who click on it. Many users who think they have the same problem often have a different configuration in their project, which means it’s not really a “me too” moment. If they use the reaction and don’t ask their own question for their own project, it doesn’t really help them. This is a forum to help WordPress users, not to collect reactions. I also think that a Facebook-style “like” as described in the first ticket is not very helpful (even though I, as someone providing help, would sometimes like to see it as a positive feedback for the long texts I wrote).
