# Re-ordering posts

 * I would like to keep one of my posts on top of the main page with the other posts
   underneath it in the regular order (from recently published to not so recently
   published). Is there a way to keep this post on top?

 * This is generally referred to as a “sticky post”. Several [plugins](http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins)
   exist to accomplish exactly this.

 * I d/l and installed Adhesive
 * I acivated it
 * it shows a check box in the posts editing box, however, even if I check the box,
   when I save the post, the check mark disappears and the post doesn’t “stick”
 * thanks for any suggestion
