re-install of WP – password issue – mail ( ) | WordPress.org

I had WP installed on GoDaddy then deleted it.
I then set up WAMP on my computer to work on WP off line.
I got to the point of adding the user name and password, clicked install and then got a login window saying I already had an installed version.
Not knowing what the password was I requested a password change and then got an error message saying the mail function may have been deleted.

Help!!
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. It will be much appreciated.

Try renaming your wp-config.php to wp-config.php.bak and than try install again.

If you can access the database via mysql or phpmyadmin just change the password.

All you have to do is md5 hash the password first. (http://www.md5rainbow.com/)

Then update the wp_users table like this:

UPDATEwordpress_default.wp_usersSETuser_pass= '098f6bcd4621d373cade4e832627b4f6' WHEREwp_users.ID` =1;
`
That will set the password to test
