For some reason, my native RSS post feed is showing readers both posts and comments as if they were posts in their feed reader. Because I am seriously code illiterate (but am trying to learn), I don’t know how to fix this issue, or where the problem originates.
I thought I found a workaround when I switched over to Feedburner, but I realized today that I have an equally huge problem involving my raw RSS feed and Google.
Since I could not seem to figure out a way to submit a viable .XML sitemap for my newly-moved blog (or figure out why I cannot do it), two weeks ago I set up my raw feed as my sitemap with Google, and now I am concerned it will cause problems with Google’s ability to read my site. (And it already has— Google marked one of my readers as an author on my blog because Google has been reading my comments as if they were posts.)
So my question is, how do I fix my RSS feed issue so that it shows only posts in the post feed and no comments? I’ve lost two readers due to this issue already, and I would rather not lose any more friends and readers right now.
Plus, the Google feed-as-sitemap comments-being-mistaken-for-posts issue has me pretty freaked.
Thanks in advance,
