The rating in the free version is an author rating that you can set when editing the recipe.
Man, this really sucks. I mean, it really does. Everything seem great until you said this thing. A recipe without a rating sucks so bad, it doesn’t even worth to install the plugin because of this, I still wonder how could you make this big mistake. This should definitelly be a free option. You have lots of other featured options, the star should have been free. Do you even think about making it free or there is no chance, for me to know if I will move on to another plugin.

There is a star rating in the free plugin, just no user rating.
We do not have plans to change that feature at the moment.
No other free users have requested this, actually, but if this is that important to you then I’m afraid our free version won’t work for you.
Well what is the sense to put a star rating for the author? It’s this obvious that he will rate it 5 all the time? This won’t be credible for the users. To be honest I am very disapointed for this thing. The rating should have worked for free. If the website will be a success I will definitelly buy the plugin but if there won’t be the case it’s obvious that I won’t buy all the plugins from the start.

I wish I could make all Premium features free to share with the world, but then I wouldn’t be able to work on and support these plugins. So we have to make choices in what should be part of the free plugin and which features should be Premium only. Plenty of people are happily using the free plugin and the features that are included.
EasyRecipe doesn’t allow you to set a recipe image in the free plugin, for example. To me that’s a key feature that I didn’t want to take out of the free plugin, but that author made another choice.
