  • So I see this has been brought up before, but with no resolution. I like the idea of
And have got the basic set up to work, but I want to have custom images for each score. I have grape jpgs (for wine ratings) each one for a specific number 0-5 including .5’s. All I want is to be able to use these images fo reach rating.

I think I’m making sense, Since I don’t know much about plugin writing I don’t know what to make the adjustment so that I can use these images instead of defaults, also I see that it puts in multiple star images. Since I only have one pic for each possibility I suppose I would have to change something else.

Anyways I can clarify if this does not make sense. Thanks for the help, ryan

I like this but before I start messing around with it, can I make it so that there is no voting. I only want to place a “rating” for each wine, somewhere in the post, using my images.
    Looks good though

If you want it to be only you (i.e. the post author) to put in the rating, you could add a quicktag (or 5) to your write page so clicking on it will drop the right image in, wrapped in a div that you can style as you want.

Sorry I’m excited to have gotten a response but i’m not sure how to do what you said. How do I add a quicktag…why “or 5” and where should I put the images?

    Thanks for the help

For adding quicktags, see Podz’s guides:

You could make one quicktag to add something like
<div class="vote"><img src="pathtogrape1.jpg" alt="1 grape" title="horrible"></div> (I think that should work), then you could edit that code depending on what rating you want, OR, make a quicktag for each rating i.e:
    <div class="vote"><img src="pathtogrape2.jpg" alt="2 grapes" title="bad"></div>
    <div class="vote"><img src="pathtogrape5.jpg" alt="5 grapes" title="excellent"></div>
So you would end up with five quicktags in total. As to where to put the images, maybe in a subfolder of wherever you put your images normally? Wherever seems logical to you really.

Thanks got it working and it looks great, thanks for the help!
