• The initial setup turned out to be a fair experience. Apart from the plugin chocking on some Unix permissions (I had to make all permission changes manually, by SSH-ing on the server), I’m pleased. Can’t wait to see how well it performs in production.

Well, forget about the kind words I just said. Locked me out of my login panel, and I find nothing I can do to regain access, except reinstalling everything… 🙁

Hi, sorry to hear about your bad experience with this plugin. If you can provide more information about your issue, perhaps we can assist you further with your problem.

If the plugin locked you out all you have to do is rename the plugin folder via FTP, log back into your website. Rename the plugin folder back to it’s original name via FTP. Activate the plugin and then disable the feature that locked you out in the first place.

    In regards to your comment.

Apart from the plugin chocking on some Unix permissions

What kind of a server are you running?

Let me know if I can assist you further.

I disagree. There was quite a lot you could do to easily get back into your site without the need to “reinstall everything”.
Why didn’t you raise a support thread? (that’s what the support section is for)

Didn’t know you maintain one, no offense. And there was really no time. I need to get everything done by the end of this week. Will consider your plugin again when I have time, in a protected/sandbox environment.

Something to look into: changing the timezone in WordPress might have had something to do with the issue. Gave me the “session expired” kick-out (although, phisically, there wasn’t a full hour since my login, but I believe the plugin, somehow, doesn’t use UTC internally — may I ask why?). When I was kicked out, I was sent to my custom login page URL, except, instead of showing a login form, there was a 404 error. Naturally, wp-login didn’t work either, not even after removing everything from the .htaccess, not even after removing the plugin’s tables from the DB. Sorry, but I just didn’t have more time for your plugin.

Good luck, you seem to need it.

We also have the following sticky post that helps with this:

When you face an issue with the plugin, the first thing you should be doing is opening a forum post instead of getting angry and giving a 1 star rating. We are happy to fix any bugs in the plugin (if any).

Never touched an “advanced” setting, especially to stay out of trouble. While I did get angry, not even now, when I’m cool, feel like giving more than one star to a plugin that made me loose one day of work. Sorry for that. Than lone star will stay there until I convince myself that there is something usable in your product. Will change it when/if that happens.
