WooCommerce is randomly sending order completion emails to old customers. Today it sent the “Your recent order has been completed” to a customer who purchased in 2021.

I can’t find any specific pattern as to who/when it chooses to send the emails.

Looking at the debug logs I see:

    “Triggered from:/var/web/site/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/emails/class-wc-email.php”

Has anybody else experienced this or have any ideas on what might be causing it?

    Thanks,

    Hello @rabiancone

    I’d be glad to help.

Can you provide us with a couple examples of the affected orders? A screenshot of the product and product notes will help us determine what is causing this.

We recommend https://snipboard.io for sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in this thread.

You are welcome to obscure any sensitive data.

I’d also like to better understand your site. Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in your response.

You can also use https://pastebin.com/ to include the report.

Once we have that information, we’ll be in a better place to help.

    Hi Nathan,

I’d prefer not to post anything in a public forum. Can we move this correspondence to email?

    Hi @rabiancone,

I understand your point but sharing the system status is generally safe, most users remove the web site’s URL for security reasons. As mentioned above, we’d need to check the order notes so you can hide any sensitive parts like the customer’s details.

Support via our ticketing system on WooCommerce.com is only provided to users who purchased paid extensions in the marketplace.

So, if you are a license holder you have access to internal support via WooCommerce.com. More details on our support policy can be found on this page:

    https://woocommerce.com/support-policy/

    Hope this provides clarity.

    Hi Mirko,

The issue has not happened again since posting here. If it does I will revisit with you.

    Thanks for your help.
