That feature has been there for about a year at least.
That is, if you mean using Customizr’s Gallery. You will see a checkbox for Random Order in the Gallery Settings interface.

Where is that, in Customizer menu?
Sorry I realized I should say, so I just edited my response. But here is it again so you’ll see it.
This is withCustomizr’s Gallery.
You will see a checkbox for Random Order in the Gallery Settings interface.
So first start the Gallery by adding the images. Then you’ll set to the box where you choose how your Gallery will appear. That’s where the option is.

Thanks for this but is this setting also for the homepage slider?
I don’t use any gallery at this site, I just want the images at homepage slider to display in random order.
My apologies for getting your hopes up, John. When you wrote “slides,” I thought of the slide shows on the pages, not of sliders. I just checked all of the slider settings for my home page slider and found no option. I also checked the official documentation and the word random doesn’t appear.

Thanks, but this was precisely my question:
Is there a way to randomize slides with latest theme versions?
Precisely because I knew there were no settings for that and I hoped, and still do, someone would have a code snippet for doing that.
