Random Products appearing in customer cart

We are having random products showing up in customers’ carts. In fact, I had it happen to me as an admin as well.

This is a coffee sales site. On two separate occasions I’ve “shopped” our website and the site is randomly putting stuff in my shopping cart. I’ve tested it with K-cups and with standard bags of coffee – it either duplicates or puts in another product. In one case, I ended up with 6 items in my cart when I only put in two. This is also happening to customers. It’s causing huge problems for us. Please help!

I tried adding the k-cups to my cart and didn’t find any duplicate products in the cart whatsoever.

Are these “duplicate” products added before to the cart or purchased? This might be a cookie problem. 🙂

Could you also share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Can you clear your browser cache by following this guide and try again, then send us the results? You can also try with another browser also check it in Chrome incognito mode.

Thanks for looking into this for me.

I think the problem was the caching plugin. And from searching around this is a problem that others have encountered with caching as well. That said, what caching plugin do you recommend I use and where would I find specific instructions on how to configure it correctly to work with WC?

While there is a multitude of caching plugins available on the internet, I cannot recommend one. However, this support documentation could be a good starting point: Configuring caching plugins
