    Good Day!

Since installing SG Security, randomly, we are redirected to a 404 page when we logout.

The URL we are being redirected to is: https://www.mywebsite.com/404

After we get the 404 page, we immediately log back in, click on “Log out all users”, then are able to logout successfully. Again, this happens at random.

There’s a lot of info on this same subject available online, but none of it useful to debug and fix our issue.

Plugin conflict tests are not helping identify the root cause either. We can only confirm this issue started since installing SG Security.

    Help appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Update:

To further assist with our issue, this is what we’re seeing in SGS’s Activity Log when we logout.

Also, we are using SGS’s custom login and registration URL fields, so this could be part of the problem.

The logout URL shown in our activity log does not show nor reference our custom login URL.

    Oh well, help appreciated.

    Thank you!

Having the same exact issue. Happened as soon as I installed SG Security

    @sstoqnov,

We closed the lid on this one too soon.

The random issue continues, except instead of being redirected to a 404 page, we’re now being redirected to our home page on logout. Sneaky, sneaky.

We still have to log back into our website when the above occurs, then click on “Log out all users” in order to logout properly.

Please review and advise. Not quite there yet! 🙂

    Cheers!

    Update:

Apologies. After all, it appears this issue has been fixed.

We identified and fixed the reason why we were being redirected to the home page after logout (see above entry).

The redirect was caused by a code snippet (see below) we are using that allows our visitors to logout without displaying the WordPress confirmation page. To fix the issue, we changed the code snippet from “Run snippet everywhere” to “Run only on site front-end.”

Reference: Log Out of WordPress Without Confirmation

Hope this helps shall anyone else decide to use this code snippet.

    Cheers!
