    Hello,

Just today, the option to add quizzes or edit existing quizzes has disappeared from WP bakery. Students are still taking quizzes, but I can’t add or edit any of them.

I have tried the following steps:

Updated all plugins that required an update
Disabled all plugins except WP Bakery & Sensei LMS and checked the page editor, but the quizzes did not appear.

I assumed that this was a plugin conflict, but even when everything is removed apart from WP Bakery & Sensei LMS then I still can’t see the quizzes.

Can someone please help with figuring this out?

    Thanks!

    Hi Steph,

Quizzes have moved to blocks in 3.9. When you add a new lesson or edit an existing lesson, the quiz block is automatically added to the page. If you’re not seeing that, then I presume it’s due to some conflict with WPBakery.

I’m not too familiar with that plugin, so will need some more details about how your lesson is configured. Is it using a WPBakery template? Something else? Do you have a link to the page on your site?

Yes that must be it. All of my lessons are created using WP Bakery. Previously I would edit my lessons with WP Bakery and there was a quiz section on the page where I could add a quiz and set the questions. With this new update, this is no longer there.

I don’t use the Gutenberg editor as all of my lessons and pages are built with WP Bakery – does this mean that lessons built with WP Bakery cannot add quizzes?

I don’t have a link to a lesson as they are all behind a login. I could create a sample lesson if that were to help

You can get the quiz boxes back by installing the Code Snippets plugin and adding the following snippet:

    add_filter( 'sensei_quiz_enable_block_based_editor', '__return_false' );

Please be aware that we don’t support the Classic Editor plugin, and it’s possible that the Quiz Settings and Quiz Questions meta boxes may be removed altogether at some point in favor of the Quiz block.

I applied what you put here, but still the students do not see the questionnaires, the button is there but when you click on it, it only refreshes the same page.

I have done the same and this doesn’t work for me. Scratch that – it’s showing now.

Does your last sentence mean that in the future you cannot use Sensei quizzes if your lessons are built on WP Bakery page builder? If this is the case I will have to move to a different LMS. I don’t really understand why support for such a widely used page builder would be removed in favour of the block editor.

@stephmylifetravel In 3.9.1, we’ve added the quiz meta boxes back if you’re using the Classic Editor plugin. So after you update to 3.9.1 you can actually get rid of the workaround and the Code Snippets plugin.

Hi Donna! Our site uses the classic editor (we really really really don’t want to use blocks).

We have Sensei LMS 3.10.0 and there are no options to add quizzes/lessons there.

Please can you provide some help to let us add quizzes again. It’s quite frustrating now.

We also have issues with the lessons not being able to save their order – we set them up how we want, save, and then nothing… they’re still in the same old order.
