Support » Plugin: Open Graph, Google Plus/Schema.org, Twitter Card Tags for WordPress » Quite nice, I should know it: It’s a fork of my plugin

  • I would like to thank Heateor, “a creative team with unique ideas in mind” (their words), for forking our plugin Facebook Open Graph, Google+ and Twitter Card Tags (although no credits whatsoever were made regarding our original work), and thus trully inspiring us to make a new version, using also their “unique” ideas, in the spirit of GPL, but giving them the deserved credit in the spirit of civism, integrity and the WordPress way of doing things.

You are FREE to borrow our ideas as many times as you like and we will NOT post 1-star ratings and negative reviews at your plugin page for this 🙂
    Good Luck!

Let’s set things straight, shall we?

You did not “borrow ideas”, you’ve copied the original code and wrapped it into classes (which I’ve been postponing for ages, thank you) 😉

Anyone who looks at the development log of both plugins will find huge amounts of copy/paste code from our plugin on yours, with small variable names changes.

Even some bugs we’ve fixed now on 2.0 are on your plugin.

Look at the icon design… Come on! (It’s ugly, I know)

It’s GPL and you are allowed to copy code. That’s not the point.
The problem is you saying you borrowed functionality when you did use huge amounts of code and ideas with no credits being given. It’s lack of integrity.

I’m completely entitled to give you 1 star rating based on the fact there’s no original ideas here, and everything that your plugin does is based on my original code.

    Here’s the proof:

    Good luck!
