 * Hi,
 * I’m trying to do as described here: [Map title to alt text](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/map-title-to-alt-text/)
   but it doesn’t work for me anymore.
 * The only thing I’ve changed is an upgrade to WP 5.2. I have MLA 2.79.
 * This happens the same on two different hosting platforms.
 * If I open an image in Quick Edit, and enter
 * template:([+post_title+])
 * as the ALT Text, the alt-text becomes the template text, not the post_title.
 * This used to work, so I suspect some WP 5.2 incompatibility.

 * Good to hear from you again, and thanks for your question.
 * On the Media/Assistant admin submenu, the Bulk Edit and Quick Edit areas have
   a few differences, reflecting their scope. The Bulk Edit area supports templates
   like the one you’ve posted above. This makes it convenient for rapid updates
   to multiple items at one time.
 * The Quick Edit area allows updates to one item at a time, and has never supported
   templates or data substitution parameters. Anything entered in the Quick Edit
   text boxes is used as a literal value, as you’ve discovered. The earlier topic
   you provided a link to covers the Bulk Edit area.
 * The easiest way to perform the task you’ve outlined above would be to copy the
   Title value displayed in the Quick Edit area and then paste it into the ALT Text
   box. You could also select the item you want to update and use the Bulk Edit
   area to apply templates like the one posted above.
 * I am marking this topic resolved because MLA is working as designed. Thanks for
   your understanding and your continued interest in the plugin.

 * Thanks a lot for your answer. It was indeed a misunderstanding on my behalf.
 * I got fooled by Firefox suggesting auto-completions for the input fields, full
   of MLA templates I’ve used in the past, so I just tabbed down and hit enter,
   and it didn’t work 🙂
 * Sorry for wasting your time.

 * Happy to help – questions are never a waste of time. Let me know if there’s anything
   else I can do to help you get the most out of MLA.
