 * Hi,
 * New to WordPress, I’m trying to figure out how to implement a landing page. I’m
   moving along well however there are questions I feel I need answers before going
   further comfortably.
 * 1. Are there potential conflicts between a page template and a theme?
 * 2. I think the reason for using a page template is to be able to use plugins 
   or even PHP modules. But the page template seems hiding the text in a page. Does
   this imply that the pages using page templates will always be a blank page? Is
   here any points sharing a page template between pages?
 * 3. How do I implement a big button to link to external websites? I found lots
   of articles talking about menu bars instead of a single button. Is there a single
   button plugin with replaceable image that I can use?
 * 4. I’m thinking dividing my main page into several rectangle blocks with borders.
   Do I need to do it in a page template?

 * I think you’re going to have to clarify your questions. The way they’re worded,
   really, makes no sense. So to that end, I’d say you’d need to read up on [Themes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#What_is_a_Theme.3F),
   because I’m not really sure you understand what they are.

 * There’s no need for that. Depending on where you want the button to appear, you
   either write the HTML for it and place it in your theme file, or you place it
   within a post.

 * Again, I think you need to read up on themes and what they are. A Page template(
   note the capital “P”) is different from a page template. And they aren’t “templates,”
   they are “theme files”. Definitely read up on that, and maybe once you get the“
   jargon” down (and understand a bit about theming) you’ll either find the answers
   to your questions, or be able to reword them so that they’re a little more clear(‘
   specially #1 &#2 – those *really* make no sense. Not trying to be offensive or
   anything…but it’s definitely not clear on what you’re asking there!) 🙂
