  • Each day I get at least a page or two of blog feeds on my site (quillian.net) a lot of them have google, facebook or other tech company ip addresses. Are these most likely individual employees reading the blog or some kind of robot that is separate from the googlebot which is clearly evident elsewhere? I hope this is a simple question for someone.

I am asking because I am working very hard at getting more readers and have started trying to decipher my stats throughly in the process.

    Hey curbside,

Are these pingbacks or are you reading these stats from Google Analytics? They could be real visitors, but they could also be spam referrals. Those generate a lot of fake traffic, which is extremely annoying but can be combatted. Let me know and I’ll be able to give you a more accurate answer!
