 * Hi. I’m testing the plugin, and I’m having a little problem – files are taking
   a long time after I click on the before they start to download. For example,
   a 6Mb .zip file takes about 8 seconds to start, an 11Mb .exe file takes about
   11 seconds to start.
 * I have some files that I want to make available that are tens of megabytes, and
   some are over 100Mb, and I’m worried that they will take an even longer time
   to begin downloading. Are there any settings that would help with this?
 * Is it possible to put files into the folder used by your plugin without uploading
   them using your plugin? For example, can I FTP files into the folder and then
   somehow make those files available in the plugin?
 * Finally, is it possible to change the folder where the files are stored? At present,
   they are in /wp-content/uploads/shared-files but I’d prefer they were in a different
   folder, preferably outside of the WordPress folder heirarchy.
 * Thanks, Peter

 * Hi,
 * I haven’t heard of such delay before. When I test on my server (a basic LAMP
   droplet at DigitalOcean), there’s no delay before the download starts. I believe
   it’s related to the server you have your site running at and it’s configuration
   somehow. Can I ask where / on what kind of server is your site hosted at? If
   I could run some tests on a similar server, it might help me understand where
   the delay comes from.
 * There have been some questions before in sense that could the files be uploaded
   directly to the server using FTP and still be used by the plugin. Currently it’s
   not possible, but I’ll certainly look into this in the coming weeks.
 * The folder where the files are stored can’t be changed right now, but it doesn’t
   sound like a big thing to implement. I’ll see if this can be implemented in a
   future update.

 * The next version of the plugin will be released at the end of next week, and
   it has a feature that may help solving that slow loading issue. Also, the new
   Pro version that will be released at the same time has a feature that enables
   the possibility to upload files using FTP.
