question regarding the 3.7 automatic update functions

  • I’ve read on make/core that this plugin will mostl likely transform into a gui for the new automatic update function in Core.
    I was wondering if the current functions of the plugin would remain the same? For instance; the core updates would only be turned on for security updates, but will it still be possible to update for every release?
    I’ve read that the function supports updates of both plugins and themes, so I don’t think that there will be any changes to that.

    What I’d like to know is; how do you (@pento) think that this plugin will change when 3.7 comes out and what to expect from it.

    @pento

    Yes, the current functionality of the plugin will stay, I’ll just be swapping out all of my upgrade code, the equivalent of which now lives in Core.

    Major updates, plugin and theme updates, as well as SVN updates, will remain.
