• Hello!

I’m quite new to wordpress (currently building my first site in my local server).

I would like the posts in my search results to be linked to the original page on which they are found … Is this possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks,

  • What search results are you referring to? Google search or something else?

    Hi Krishna,

Oops, sorry. I meant the search results that are returned when someone searches for a word/post on the website I’m building. I would like the title of the posts that are displayed in the search results to link to a page. For example, if someone searched for the word ‘Ted’, then a post called ‘Ted Talk’ is returned in the search results. But this post was originally displayed on a page called Resources. So I would like to be able to link the title (‘Ted talk’) of the post in the search results to the page ‘Resources’ – and I was wondering if there is some way to do this that would work for any post returned in the search results? (I have no idea if what I’m hoping to achieve is even possible!)

    Many thanks for your help,

Sorry, this cannot be predicted. You have to actually go online and then search for the keywords that you are targeting. Even when your pages are indexed, if your better-placed competitors rank better that you you may rank so down in SERPs that you may take days to locate on which page your page appears.

Moreover, this is NOT a WordPress issue but related to SEO/ search engines. A better place to seek answers for your question will be a forum like Google’s.

Sorry I was talking about the search function within a website, but maybe what I’m looking for is not possible… thanks for your help nonetheless!
