Question re: step 7 of backing up db

It says to leave the boxes in the data section unticked. The implication is that we will find the boxes unticked by default and indeed, in other places in the codex where this sort of direction is given, boxes are always already unticked by default.

Here, however, “Use hexidecimal for binary..” is ticked. Should it be left as is, or should it be unticked?

I usually do a backup both ways, but which is correct?
