# Question re: AO & Async JavaScript

 * Hi – I am deferring js in AO and I think it is working OK. I am getting called
   out on lighthouse for ‘Reduce unused JavaScript and defer loading scripts’. This
   contains the gtm and gtag js (two files).
 * Would Async Javascript plugin help here to defer these? If so, is there a potential
   impact on the reporting in GA (especially for bounces etc.?) if the user does
   not interact with the page then the visit will not be recorded?

 * AsyncJS (or the async field on settings -> Autoptimize -> extra) could probably
   help there, but I can’t say for sure if this will or will not impact GA reporting
   I’m afraid ..
