Support » Fixing WordPress » Question about the new PHP requirement.

  • Hello.

So after upgrading to 3.2.1 I’ve been having some serious issues. Mainly, I’m unable to access my dashboard. When I try to load up the /wp-login.php nothing happens and the website remains on the same page.

So I came here and browsed around first and came across the new PHP and MySQL requirements. Thankfully the MySQL is up-to-date, however, my PHP is not.

My host currently has the PHP at version: 5.2.12.
I sent them a message asking if it would be possible for them to upgrade and this was their response.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to upgrade the PHP version. We may upgrade it in the near future but we cannot provide the exact time frame. However, you can try installing the application and it may work.

    Thank you!

So my question is, could this issue be causing the problems I’m currently having with being unable to access the dashboard, or is it something else? Also, will I be un-able to use wordpress until my host upgrades the .12 to .4?

Thanks for any help in advance.
