    Hi bro,

    Hope you’re fine πŸ™‚

I have minimal, simple and clean theme on my blog (similar with Genesis). Also It is under construction for now… I will publish my blog soon.

Contents of the blog will be about WordPress guides and tutorials.

Below options are good for SEO in your opinion?

    Index only:
    – Homepage (The homepage is also post page. I don’t use additional post page.)
    – Contents
    – static pages such as privacy, contact pages

    Noindex, follow for:
    – Categories and taxonomies
    – Tags (I’m using tags in order to improve user experience purpose only.)
    – Search, date, author and media archives

And also noindex, follow for all of pagination pages (page1, page2…)

What do you think about it? Are above options efficient and simple for a guide blog? I want to focus on the quality of contents only, if you recommend these options.

    Best regards,
    Thank you!

    Hi there, bro =)

    I hope you are too!

First and foremost: Always allow the homepage and useful content pages to be indexed.

Now, I think you should put yourself in the shoes of the potential visitor: Are the landing-pages understandable and useful for the visitors, or will they bounce back quickly as they get lost? If it’s the former, keep it indexed; otherwise, apply “noindex”.

I want to focus on the quality of contents only

That’s an excellent strategy, you should keep pursuing this!

You shouldn’t take duplicated content into account too much. From the (recently published) SEO tips:

Duplicated content can cause issues, but your site won’t be penalized for it. Google automatically filters duplicated content and will choose a version of the page that’s most suitable for the search engine user.

With duplicated content, the worst that could happen is that a visitor lands on a less desirable version of your webpage.

And to sign off with, I don’t think the privacy policy and the terms of service are all too useful for potential search engine visitors. This should be linked to in the footer for people who are interested (…and for legal reasons).

I hope this helps! Cheers πŸ™‚
