question about RSS feeds in post page footer

  • I have noticed that the RSS feed that is in the footer “as standard” is for a feed for all posts within category …..

since ive got my category arranged as a directory to contain individual topics (posts) it means that all the topics are in the feed ???

That means several hundred separate topics all in one feed ?????
I wonder why it is arranged like that ?? (there must be a good reason).

i also so far have not found a tag that calls just the post plus replies….

    Can someone enlighten me……
    Thanxs

I wonder why it is arranged like that

Because that’s the only way to ensure feed propagation of all posts using a single feed. You can however, create custom feeds for specific categories or tags if you want to.

    It’s a template file (single.php) – not a tag.
