Question about purchasing theme from Themeforest

Hey guys,

After a really bad experience using a free theme from a less-than-reputable source, I wanted to check in about a theme I’m planning on purchasing.

I’m thinking of buying the Halftone theme, designed by Luis Zuno. From what I can tell, Zuno seems like a reputable designer, and he seems to respond quickly to user support requests.

However, I understand there’s been quite a bit of controversy about Themeforest, and I want to double-check that, if I purchase this theme, that I’m making a good decision.

Due to the licensing arguments between Themeforest and WordPress outlined here, I can’t tell if Halftone is truly licensed under GPL. I really love this design, and just want to make sure this developer is considered “trustworthy” before making the purchase.
