    Hi Amir!

The plugin has a feature called “Time Range” that allows you to have WPP list the most viewed posts from the last 24 hours, the last 7 days, last 30 days, etc.

If you set the WPP widget to “last 7 days”, it’ll show the views count registered during that time range. Same goes for the other time ranges as well.

Nice, I think your plugin is unique because of this time range feature, the exact thing that I need. because I want to show Trending Articles.

Just wanna know is this compatible with wp-rocket cache plugin and ssl + http/2?

    Thanks for the compliment πŸ™‚

If you enable the “Ajaxify widget” feature, WPP should be able to work with most (if not all) caching plugins out there. Just make sure you clear wp-rocket’s cache once after installing WPP so it can track your posts & pages correctly.

    Hi Hector
I am using your plugin right now and it’s great πŸ™‚
    Just one question:
The plugin has been set on monthly stats. The view stats on my posts (theme function) shows 168 views for my article and your plugin shows it 119 views.

Why is that? I do not use any cache plugin and in the tools section it has been also set on “everyone”.

    Hi Amir!

The statistics from WPP are independent from any others you may have on your site. Check the first two FAQs for a slightly more detailed explanation on how WPP works.

Thanks Hector. Does it show the number of views or viewers?
Because I prefer views, if someone opens the same article 10 times, I want it shows 10.

Does it show the number of views or viewers?

    It’s the former, Amir πŸ™‚

Isn’t there any way to tweak it to detect better? because the view function of my theme shows 383 views for a post but WPP shows 257. It’s a lot πŸ™

Again, as I previously said above, WPP gathers its own data from the time it was installed on your site. Any previous data gathered by a third party software such as your theme’s views function, Google Analytics, another WordPress plugin, etc. is something beyond WPP’s control.

No I am talking about an article that I published days after installing WPP.

    Ah, that’s a different story!

Alright, I need to know a few things in order to be able to give you an answer / help you out:

    • How does your theme calculate the views count? The process might be slightly different from how WPP does it, which ultimately could lead to differences in the views count. For example: WPP updates the views count via AJAX to prevent bot / spider visits from inflating it. Does your theme also filter out visits from bots / spiders? If it doesn’t, then that could explain the difference. I’ve tested WPP for a long time now and even compared it to the stats given by Google Analytics for my site and I can confidently say that the data is almost identical to what WPP reports.
    • Are you using a caching plugin? If so, you need to clear its cache once after installing / upgrading WPP – Otherwise WPP might fail to track some pageviews until the cache is refreshed.

    Thanks Hector πŸ™‚
This is the demo page, same theme: http://goo.gl/9sWbDl

I think it’s because the theme calculates bot and spiders views.

So it’s not possible for you to add also calculating the bots and spiders in the “Log views from…” ?

    Thanks

    It’s possible, I just refuse to πŸ˜›

Personally I don’t want to know how many bots / spiders have visited my site – I care more about how many people have.

If what bothers you is that your theme is showing somewhere its views count (eg. in the post / page detail), know that WPP also has its own method to get the pageviews of a single post / page that you can use to display it on single.php (or just about anywhere else if you provide the post / page ID): wpp_get_views().

Thanks a lot Hector, I’m going to try it πŸ™‚
But it would be great if you add support for robots as an option in the tools, for robot lovers! πŸ˜€

Thanks anyway for your great support and unique plugin πŸ˜‰

Don’t mention it πŸ™‚ Enjoy the plugin!
