Question about IP Ban when attacked | WordPress.org

Hello.

In your standalone script there is an option for temporarily ban IP when an attack is happening (with options, severity etc etc).

I can’t find such an option in WP version. I see such an option only for Login protection. Not while attacked.

Am i missing something ?

This feature was not implemented in the WP and WP+ Edition. We did implement it in the generic Pro and Pro+ because they were released years before the WP/WP+. But that was not satisfactory enough.
So, instead, we added to the WP+ the syslog logging option because that’s the best way to block offending IPs: https://blog.nintechnet.com/syslog-logging-with-ninjafirewall/
It is also available in the Pro/Pro+ Edition.

How does logging block offending IP addresses?

EDIT: Nevermind, I understand. Logging the entries in the system log enables “fail2ban” to handle the rest. 🙂
