Question about how Connections works with BuddyPress

    How does Connections work with BuddyPress?

    I am working on my church’s website and they would like to have an online directory and BuddyPress. All of the church members would be listed in the online directory, but not all of them would use BuddyPress. How would that work?

    Are BuddyPress users able to update their online info that Connections uses? If I first imported the church directory into Connections, what would happen as members started using BuddyPress? Would their accounts be connected?

    Plugin dev added buddypress tag to Connections plugin hence it’s showing up at BP.org http://buddypress.org/community/groups/connections/

    Having said that, backup database first before installing BuddyPress, just in case OR check out BP/Connections in a test site first.

    Ok thanks for the tip.

    Does anyone know about the functionality questions I have?

    For example, my church has a membership of about 1000 members. I would like to have a searchable church directory with all 1000 members. I would also like to give members the ability to interact using BuddyPress. Say 200 sign up for BuddyPress. Would changes to their BuddyPress profile change the church directory?

    If no one knows, I guess I’ll have to run some tests.

    Found out there is no link between Connection and BuddyPress. If anyone has a different solution to my problem, please let me know.
