Support » Plugin: Robin image optimizer — save money on image compression » Question about Backup images Setting

  • Hello,

I want your help with the setting of the Backup images. It says before optimizing, all your images will be saved in a separate folder for future recovery.
If I have 20.000 photos (including thumbnail, medium etc..) that means it will generate +20.000 extra photos for backup? It a really big number, and the Disk space will be increasing dramatically.

    Is it work like this?

For my needs is it better to turn off the Backup images option from settings?

    Thank you!

It is better not to disable backup, otherwise you will not be able to re-optimize your images, for example, if you want to change the quality or switch to webp.
Now hosting services provide enough storage space. Even 20,000 images is a little bit

I see, thank you very much.

I liked the plugin and the support, good work.
    5 stars! 🙂
