question about alt text/tags

    I could use a little clarification on the differences between alt text and alt tags, and when and where to use them.

    Question 1:
    From what I have gathered from here and elsewhere, specifying alt text on each image in my media library is a good practice for SEO. But I have a lot of images that aren’t in the media library/gallery – how do I managed those (ported over from my old site)? What about description?

    Question 2:
    When I go to “Edit Media” I see the tag and description areas I see the box at the bottom that says “SEO by Yoast…” with Title, Meta Description, etc. Should I fill those out too, for each image?
