    Hello,

I just migrated a customer to my service tonight, and found that whenever either of us was logged into the admin area, everything timed out and refused to load. The Apache error logs indicate a timeout:

[Sun Feb 16 23:10:47 2014] [error] [client IP] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://www.xxxxxxxx.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3357&action=edit
[Sun Feb 16 23:16:42 2014] [error] [client IP] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/wp-admin/edit.php
[Sun Feb 16 23:21:49 2014] [error] [client IP] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=publish&post_type=post
[Sun Feb 16 23:41:31 2014] [error] [client IP] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-admin/
[Sun Feb 16 23:46:44 2014] [error] [client IP] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/wp-admin/plugins.php

I went back through the logs on her old host, and found the same issue after February 10th – which is when she installed the plugin. Deactivating the plug resolved the problem 100%.

The WP error log shows the following, indicating a MySQL timeout:

    [17-Feb-2014 04:22:15 UTC] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT * FROM fsg_posts WHERE (post_type = ‘page’ AND post_status = ‘publish’) ORDER BY menu_order,fsg_posts.post_title ASC made by require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), require_once(‘wp-includes/template-loader.php’), include(‘/themes/weaver-ii-pro/index.php’), weaverii_get_header, get_header, locate_template, load_template, require_once(‘/themes/weaver-ii-pro/header.php’), do_action(‘weaver_nav’), call_user_func_array, weaverii_nav_action, get_template_part, locate_template, load_template, require(‘/themes/weaver-ii-pro/nav-bottom.php’), wp_nav_menu, call_user_func, weaverii_page_menu, wp_page_menu, wp_list_pages, get_pages

    Server version: Apache/2.2.24 (Unix)
    PHP 5.3.23 (cli)

I would be happy to supply additional information if it would be helpful, as I’d like my customer to be able to use your product. I have suggested she update her WP install to the current version, also.

    Thanks very much.

  • I should mention – the issue does not present itself when not logged into the Dashboard.

    WP Missed Schedule Version?
    Site name and url?
    Hosting Name?
    MySQL Version?
    WordPress Version?
    Plugin List?
    Theme Name and url?

I apologize; the forum asked for the versions of WP and this plugin before I entered other information, I thought it would be attached.

WP: 3.5.2 (I have asked her to update today and test again)
    Plugin: 2013.1231.2013
    MySQL 5.1.72
Theme: Weaver II Pro – http://weavertheme.com/about/

We are a cPanel host running suPHP and ModSecurity. Her previous host was Hostmonster, and she had the same issue there.

My customer prefers her URL not be posted in a public forum, but I will gladly share it privately with you if you let me know how you prefer to receive it.

She has quite a few other plugins, all of which play nicely together, remarkably:

    Add To Post
    Akismet
    Broken Link Checker
    CommentLuv
ELI’s Related Posts Footer Links and Widget
    Fancier Author Box
    Good Writer Checkify
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    Limit Login Attempts
    Official StatCounter Plugin
    Quick Contact Form
    SEO Nofollow External
    Simplified Social Sharing
    Skimlinks
    WP Affiliate Platform
    WP eStore

    Thank you for your time.

This query is not generated to my plugin but another plugin …

Deactivating the plug resolved the problem 100%

    OK, question resolved!

My apologies – I thought perhaps you might be interested in issues your plugin has with an older version of WP. My mistake. Deactivating the plugin is not “question resolved,” but I won’t take up any more of your time.

I thought perhaps you might be interested in issues your plugin has with an older version of WP.

I interested on “really” issues, that my plugin produce, not others.

My time is dedicated to assisting real problems, free of charge, does not dedicate my time to the customers of a service fee, for a false problem, without even knowing the url of the website, or if my plugin has been installed correctly!

WordPress 3.5+ is an old installation, and there are many plugins that are installed, admittedly incompatible with that version!

Add To Post – Compatible up to 3.3.2
ELI’s Related Posts Footer Links and Widget – Compatible up to 3.3.2
Good Writer Checkify – Compatible up to 3.3.2
Limit Login Attempts – Compatible up to 3.3.2
CommentLuv – Requires 3.6 or higher
Jetpack by WordPress.com – Requires 3.7 or higher

Theme Weaver II – Tested up to 3.4

Others plugins was incompatible with WordPress 3.7+ and 3.8+ …

My plugin, just for the record, it works perfectly with WordPress 3.5+

If you have encountered a real problem of my plugin with WordPress 3.5+ i am pleased to see this, but it’s a real problem, not caused by other factors, or other plugins … and do not let me add another …

There are more than 100,000 people who use this plugin, and in 6 years of life of this plugin has never been found an unlikely problem like this …

    Have a Good Day 🙂
