    Hello

I have been trying this plugin (along with other similar plugins) and have the following queries-

1.) Other plugins have options to map categories with Google categories and also map custom fields such as brands etc. Will this plugin have similar feature is future?

2.) Does this plugin not create an inventory file if We want to list Our products in Google local product listing?

    3.) This plugin- http://prntscr.com/1dyfwe7

    Other plugin- http://prntscr.com/1dygaki

It seems that this plugin is not formatting the short description properly. All the text is in 1 paragraph without any spaces?

4.) Incase I want to do clean uninstall of this plugin does this plugin create any new database tables and what entries does it make in the wp options table.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello @sanchitgoyal,

Thanks for your questions! Let’s see if I can help:

1.) Other plugins have options to map categories with Google categories and also map custom fields such as brands etc. Will this plugin have similar feature is future?

This is not currently a feature of Google Listings & Ads, but it is a proposed enhancement on the plugin’s GitHub repository. You are welcome to ‘thumbs up’ the issue and leave a comment to let the developers know this is important to you!

2.) Does this plugin not create an inventory file if We want to list Our products in Google local product listing?

The plugin works by directly syncing your products to Google via the Action Scheduler. There is more detailed information about how products are synced in the Google Listing & Ads FAQ.

To my understanding, there is no additional inventory file or downloadable feed available.

3.) … It seems that this plugin is not formatting the short description properly. All the text is in 1 paragraph without any spaces?

I don’t see anything about this in our development issues for the plugin, so I’ve put out feelers to find out if the formatting you are seeing is intentional or not, and whether it can be corrected or if we plan to add it in the future

I’ll update here once I learn more!

4.) Incase I want to do clean uninstall of this plugin does this plugin create any new database tables and what entries does it make in the wp options table.

There is actually a procedure to remove all Google Listings & Ads tables and data from your installation when uninstalling the plugin:

    1. Define the WC_GLA_REMOVE_ALL_DATA constant in your wp-config.php file and set it to boolean true
    2. Uninstall the plugin via WordPress > Plugins

I hope that helps, and I’ll follow up about the description formatting once I hear back from our team. Thanks!

    @sanchitgoyal,

I have some good news, our developers have worked on the product description issue you shared with us and have devised a fix which was included in today’s update to Google Listings and Ads!

Here is the line from the Google Listsngs & Ads 1.3.0 changelog:

    * Tweak – Allow safe HTML tags for product descriptions.

I hope you give 1.3.0 a try, please let us know how it goes and if you see any problems with the new functionality. Thanks for highlighting this issue for us and helping to improve the plugin for everybody with your questions and observations.

    Have a great day!

    Hello @lioneldaniel

Thanks for the update. Currently I am trying some other plugin for the feed mainly because I do not use Woocommerce admin and this plugin does not work without that. Hopefully I will use this plugin in the future. Regards

    Hello @sanchitgoyal,

I’m glad you’ve found a solution that works for you!

To clarify the plugin requirements, Google Listings & Ads does not depend on WooCommerce Admin’s features (though if it did, those are automatically included in WooCommerce).

If you have any further questions, let us know or feel free to open a new topic. Have a great day!

Hello just to clarify I disable the woocommerce admin via “disable woocommerce bloat” plugin. And this plugin doesnt work if Woocommerce admin is disabled.

Its not a separate plugin. Its functionality of Woocommerce only which I have disabled as it is bloated. Hopefully in future Woocommerce can optimise it and it would not need to be disabled at all.

Best of luck for the development of this plugin and have a great day as well!

    Hi @sanchitgoyal

    > just to clarify I disable the woocommerce admin via “disable woocommerce bloat” plugin. And this plugin doesnt work if Woocommerce admin is disabled.

Just confirming – you are correct – if you remove/disable WooCommerce Admin then Google Listings & Ads will not work. It should disable a notice and not activate.

The reason for this is GLA requires many of the React/JS based elements introduced with WooCommerce Admin.
